The photographer who disappears into your day — and brings back every moment that mattered.

INQUIRE

After my first wedding as a photographer, I sat in my car for a few minutes before driving home. It was a small backyard ceremony on the water. Nothing grand — just two people surrounded by everyone who loved them most. I watched the whole day unfold, and when it was over, I thought: “oh yeah, this is it for me.”

That wasn’t where I started. Before weddings, I spent years in photo and video across completely different worlds — corporate, government, professional sports. Photography was always my first love, but I came to weddings through video, and when I eventually made the full transition to photography, something clicked into place that hasn’t moved since.

Six years and countless wedding days later, I still feel that same pull. What keeps me coming back isn’t just the couple at the centre of it all — it’s watching how loved they are by their people. There’s a specific kind of energy in a room full of people who are happy, excited, and completely present. I get to walk into that over and over again, and it never gets old. My job is to capture all of it — the big moments and the quiet ones, the connection and the joy and the love radiating from every corner of the room — in a way that actually does the day justice.

That’s what drives me.

The story

01.

On a wedding day, my role shifts depending on what the moment calls for.

During portrait time, I’m fully present with you — guiding, collaborating, making sure you’re having fun and actually feeling like yourselves. I don’t want wedding photos to be something couples dread or white-knuckle through. I want them to be a highlight of the day, something you look back on because it was genuinely enjoyable. That’s what I work toward.

For the rest of the day, I’m a fly on the wall. My approach is unobtrusive by design — I’ve had more than a few couples tell me afterward that they barely noticed I was there, which might sound like a strange thing to be proud of, but it’s genuinely one of my favourite things to hear. It means the day felt like their day.

Logistics matter to me too, probably more than you’d expect. A day that runs smoothly means you stay relaxed, your guests stay happy, and the photos reflect that ease. I work alongside your other vendors to keep things on track without anyone feeling rushed.

And I’m not just there for the two of you. I make a point of connecting with your guests as well — their comfort in front of the camera matters almost as much as yours. Some of the best photos from any wedding day are the ones of your people celebrating you, and those only happen when everyone feels at ease.

How I work

02.

I grew up outside Toronto but came to Ottawa fourteen years ago for university, fell in love with the city, and never left. I love that I can live downtown in the middle of everything and still find pockets of green space and water within 10 minutes of walking.

My cottage is my favourite place in the world. I spent every summer of my childhood in the Parry Sound and Muskoka area, and if I’m there now, you’ll find me in or around the water from the moment I wake up. That part of Ontario is home to me in a way few other places are — which probably explains why I’ll photograph a cottage wedding on very little convincing.

Outside of work, I’m happiest at a concert. I will fully commit to this: I have flown across the world for shows, I always find my way to the floor, and my taste in music would probably surprise you. I love a lot of genres, but my absolute favourite is heavy rock and metal. Yes, really.

Before weddings became my focus, I spent a few years doing freelance work for the NHL. It was everything it sounds like, and resulted in a collection of genuinely embarrassing moments in front of players and staff that I’m always happy to share at my own expense.

Outside the camera

03.

She balances confidence with a disarming, laid-back nature. She is friendly, open, and makes it her priority to make you feel comfortable and be yourself from the first moment you meet her — and especially during those extra intimate and romantic shots that, if handled differently, could turn into awkward or inauthentic moments. With Danielle, you never feel like you’re performing — and always feel like yourselves. At the same time, she is confident and guides you through every shoot with ease.
